I can't believe I haven't mentioned The Hunger Games yet! I probably mentioned earlier on this blog that the books are amazing and the film was equally amazing in it's own right. Obviously the film was never going to follow the book exactly as the readers wanted but it has set up a sequel really well with added scenes that weren't in the book. So now we've just got to wait 18 months for Catching Fire. It will be long wait.
The whole time I was watching the film I just kept thinking 'I can't believe I'm watching this!' It was amazing to finally see it after waiting so long for it to come out. I really want to see it again. Some of the scenes from the book were acted out so perfectly it was amazing.
When I went to New York and saw how many Peanut Butter products there were I decided I really needed to start liking Peanut Butter. I think I've been doing well, I like Peanut Butter mixed with stuff like chocolate and in sandwiches with jam (they are heavenly) but I can't eat the stuff on it's own. But it has been brought to my attention that I need to change the 'Ten Things About Me' information. I do now sometimes enjoy Peanut Butter.
I could literally eat these all day. |
So at the moment it's the Easter Holidays. I gave up chocolate for Lent and I lasted just over four weeks but there came a really nice sunny day and I just really had to eat some froyo. It was so good. Since then I've eaten chocolate everyday, I don't know how I even managed to find food in my house that wasn't chocolate coated before. Anyway, it's the Easter Holidays and I should really be doing revision but i'm so lazy. I've tried to revise for my psychology resit and I have done some maths work and I have started Biology revision but I really should be doing so much more. I just really lack the motivation right now. I have, however, really got into reading. I read three novels and two collections of short stories from the Sherlock Holmes books and I decided to take a break to read some other things and i've got quite a few new books recently:
- My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
- Matched by Ally Condle
- The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson
- The Prisoner of Azkaban and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling
I've read Matched already and it was pretty good. It's set in the future and it's similar to Uglies in the way there is a government that controls everything and no one has any choices in almost everything, like where they work, live, who they marry, what they eat, how they spend their time. It's ridiculous how little freedom there is. The government has even made predictions about how they will act, like whether they will agree to do a job, or whether they may show some problematic behavior at a certain stage in their life. And they even make them carry tablets, the green one you can take if you need to relax and the blue one in case something bad happens, you can live off it and the red one which no one knows what it does. I really need to read the sequel, Crossed, and then the next book in the series; Reached.
I've read the Harry Potter books before, but i'm planning on reading them again soon because I loved them so much. I had the first two and I found the third and fourth in a charity shop and they were good quality so I just bought them. I've got to look out for the last three now.
I also really want to read The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare but they still aren't in my local library so I might ask for them for my birthday but there are already five books and I don't know if I want to keep up with a long running series. I also really want to read The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams. The film was on the other day and I absolutely love that film so I'd love to read the books.
I should go now, need to get back to avoiding revision.
